Hosanna!
The other day I was in class and noticed some writing on the desk I was in. It said:
Break my [heart]
for what breaks yours
I figured that it must be some cruel love note to someone. Later through the day I had a song stuck in my head from listening to Pandora radio. The song was Hosanna by Hillsong United. I decided to look up the lyrics so that I could learn them. Here is what showed up.
I see the king of glory
Coming on the clouds with fire
The whole earth shakes
The whole earth shakesI see his love and mercy
Washing over all our sin
The people sing
The people singHosanna
Hosanna
Hosanna in the highestI see a generation
Rising up to take their place
With selfless faith
With selfless faithI see a near revival
Stirring as we pray and seek
We’re on our knees
We’re on our kneesHeal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you have loved meBreak my heart from what breaks yours
Everything I am for your kingdoms cause
As I go from nothing to
EternityHosanna in the highest
That changed the whole meaning of those words. No longer did I think of those words as a twisted love note, but a sincere heart cry that I enjoy now. I hope that this is also your heart cry.
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from your presence,
and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and uphold me with a willing spirit.
