Hosanna!

The other day I was in class and noticed some writing on the desk I was in. It said:

Break my [heart]
for what breaks yours

I figured that it must be some cruel love note to someone. Later through the day I had a song stuck in my head from listening to Pandora radio. The song was Hosanna by Hillsong United. I decided to look up the lyrics so that I could learn them. Here is what showed up.

I see the king of glory
Coming on the clouds with fire
The whole earth shakes
The whole earth shakes

I see his love and mercy
Washing over all our sin
The people sing
The people sing

Hosanna
Hosanna
Hosanna in the highest

I see a generation
Rising up to take their place
With selfless faith
With selfless faith

I see a near revival
Stirring as we pray and seek
We’re on our knees
We’re on our knees

Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you have loved me

Break my heart from what breaks yours
Everything I am for your kingdoms cause
As I go from nothing to
Eternity

Hosanna in the highest

That changed the whole meaning of those words. No longer did I think of those words as a twisted love note, but a sincere heart cry that I enjoy now. I hope that this is also your heart cry.

Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from your presence,
and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and uphold me with a willing spirit.
Psalm 51:10-12

The Lord Gives – The Lord Takes Away

This morning was a disturbing morning. Tiffany Huff from school was killed this morning in a tragic car accident. I did not know her. The last time that I had someone die from a school that I attended was when I was attending NBBC and a friend of mine was killed when he slid on the ice. The exciting part of this story today is that Tiffany’s Facebook status currently reads:

Tiffany Huff is so happy how God answers prayers..my Papa got saved today!!!!! :) .(20 hours ago)

How incredible is that! I don’t understand God’s ways, but I know that “for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Of course, we know that the ultimate purpose of this is so that we will be conformed to the image of Christ. I praise God that He is the Creator and sustainer of life. I trust that through this many will be drawn closer to Him.

Humbled,

Check out a post by another school mate.

Here is the news report.

On the go!

Thanks to my good friend Jesse I now am back to my blog. There has been a lot that has happened within the past couple weeks that I was not able to write about…oh well. I suppose God does that for a reason sometimes.

In the meantime, I was able to get the new G1. I am very excited about it. I love it. If you are a Google junky like I am, this would be a good investment for you. Because of my G1 I have been introduced to much of the Mobile Web. To tell you the truth, I was a bit disappointed at how few sites there are that have a mobile alternative. Fortunately for me, all of my “essentials” are either built into my phone already or have a mobile version. Here are some of the sites that I found.

  • BibleGateway (mobile) – a great website for reading or studying the Bible. This site offers different versions (languages too!) as well as commentaries. You can also set your preferences for your default version and viewability.
  • ESV Bible (mobile) – the official website for the ESV Bible which includes the footnotes.
  • Facebook (mobile) – one of the most popular social networks on the net. I am sure you already know the rest.
  • FitReach (mobile) – a simple fitness site that helps you log weight, body fat, and lean mass. It also lets you add your diet and training to help give you guidelines.
  • Flickr (mobile) – an awesome photo sharing site. I have found it very useful for tips from other photographers as well as viewing others’ photos for ideas.
  • Forca (mobile) – a pretty cool weather site.
  • Fox Sports (mobile) – a great place to find a lot of the sports scores.
  • Google Reader (mobile) – a great, free RSS reader. Although it is not integrated into my phone already, I still enjoy the easy access.
  • Mowser – a mobile directory of other mobile sites.
  • Remember The Milk (mobile) – a task scheduler. I have found this website to be especially useful for reminding me to pay bills at certain times of the month or even things that I may tend to forget. This site allows you to set reminders which is especially convenient.
  • ServiceBeacon (mobile) – a very resourceful site to log vehicle service history and even gas mileage. I find this very useful since it already has the OEM servicing schedule for most makes and models. It will even let you know about recalls on specific types of vehicles.
  • TV Guide (mobile) – a breakdown of TV programming.
  • Twitter (mobile) – a microblogging site that many use to spread information quickly or just to update their status on Facebook.

Well, that is the list of sites that I have found to be especially helpful. I am interested to find others out there as well. Which mobile sites have you found that may be resourceful to others?

BTW – Check out my website on your mobile browser. Let me know how you like it.
