Happy Reformation Day!

It has been 489 years since Luther nailed his ninety-five thesis on the day of Wittenberg Door. Praise the Lord for the many works of theology and doctrine that has been written and preserved because the Lord worked in a man’s life to resist the powers of this world. For those that have no clue of what I am talking about, check out this page. People where I work didn’t know what it was either. May we seek to grow even more through the studies that have been done by our fathers in the faith.

In addition, here is a little ditty that may help you think of the Reformation in a whole new light. I hope it is not offensive. I found it quite amusing. In fact, I found this group’s raps to be theologically sound. (Don’t quote me on that. I just know that they involve a lot of theology in their music and from what I understand is sound.)

Well, I must be going. I hope you all had a great day.

Grace my brothers and sisters,

Josh

OK, I know that I do not post very often. I am plugging away at work and school. I just wanted to let everyone know that from now on, people will have to create a login name in order to post. I have been getting so much spam that it fills up my inbox. I know that this may mean that I don’t get as many comments, but I would rather not get so much junk mail.

Thank you for the understanding,

Josh

Online Communities

I have long pondered the purpose and usefulness of online communties (ie. MySpace, Xanga, Facebook, Hi5, etc.). My expectation and hope is that I get some feedback on this post.

Having been a member of Xanga for several years now, I am finding that there really is no purpose any more for me to have it except for the fact that friends and even family can read posts…check up on me…and such. I ahve also tried other services. MySpace seems to be too open to others who like to flaunt themselves and their bodies before all. As a Christian man, I find it unreasonable to have a MySpace account. Hi5 seems to be headed in the same direction. Xanga is not as open. However, I find that even searching for random people online can become a stumbling block. One can find almost anyone that he/she wants. One can become anyone they choose to be for the sake of acceptance as well as dissatisfaction for who they are. But as I said before, there are those that choose to be themselves and post to keep involved their friends’ and family’s lives. There are also those that wish those that hope that the random web surfer might stumble upon the site and find Christ exalted. Then of course there are those that like to irritate others by spamming others’ pages with “Jesus Loves Me” poems that usually do nothing for the other people online. So, what is to become of all this? I find that many people have found excellent use of blogs for discussions…doctrinal issues…and so on. It has become our modern day, world-wide townsquareTownsquare where we can interact with others and join in edifying conversation where the possibility of misuse is accepted. Some also like to use it to keep up with others-friends, family, etc.

I have recently stumbled upon Facebook. Though it has been around, I was never allowed an account because I was not in school. I am finding that it is enjoyable, safe, and user-friendly (which is always nice). It is not too open to allow you access to anyone and everyone. It can however be misused. I have joined and find it enjoyable to keep up with friends and family that choose to not read my blog here. It is more standard and user friendly. I will be keeping my blog here, but as for other online communities, they just promote the world and all that it has to offer in my opinion. What think ye?

Living under His righteousness,
Josh
